Sexual Addiction and Sexual Crimes May Have Some Crossover

While the core causes of sexual addiction and sexual crimes can differ greatly, the progressive nature of sexual addiction may create a crossover between addiction and the likelihood of sexual crimes, say recent articles.
While the person with sexual addiction at first uses the behaviors – such as obsessive online pornography viewing or sex with multiple partners – as a way to escape negative feelings, the addiction may progress to a level where feelings of rage are acted out sexually. The addiction also means the person will likely experience a loss of control and an increase in sexually impulsive behaviors, which can sometimes translate into acts of sexual violence.

Additionally, the behaviors people with sexual addictions engage in may become more impulse-driven and less concealed over time, leading them to cross the line into what is considered a sexual offense – such as masturbation in public. Because a person with a sexual addiction will experience a need for a much higher frequency of sexual behavior than others, they may also have a higher likelihood of engaging in sexual activity that falls outside of legal boundaries.

A significant difference between sexual addiction behaviors and sexual crimes can be found in the motivation behind the behavior. Many people with sexual addictions may not actually seek pleasure, but instead look to the behavior as an escape or a way to cope with problems like low self-worth. In contrast, a person who commits a sexually violent crime may have anger or malice as a motivator.

Further research into the linkages between sexual addiction and sexual crimes is ongoing, with new research studies focused on the ways Internet pornography may cause changes in perceptions toward sex and women

Kenyans:Current Hunger Situation

The current campaign organised by the Safaricom and KCB has so far  seen  Kenyans and other well wishers pledge in amounts worth 90 million Kenya Shillings.We  have also seen the international community come in to help with food donations.

While this is really a good move,the Kenyan government is still not seeing the seriousness of this.This is is even made worse by the Government Spokesman a Mr Alfred Mutua,Who in my view should have  vacated office  yesterday if not now.Reason being, the media had been higlighting  the food situation as is in the Northern part of Kenya,yet Mutua has the audicy of lying that the government has no reports of any famine related deaths.

How does Mutua sleep at night knowing that he has lied to Kenyans?

Could i be blaming Mutua for nothing since i do not understand what is "government" according to him.
 That said and done,its time Kenyans took action once and for all.
we cannot in this day and age have our fellow Kenyans suffer and die from hunger.This is unacceptable.

Im however lost for words on what strategies can we use to address this situation once and for all.

Any ideas??

Sexual Violence:What happens next

Sexual violence indeed does occur.

In case you are sexually violated; always remember that you are not fault. You should not blame yourself for what has happened to you.

There are services that are easily available at the police station and health facility. You can only however access these services only when you present to these institutions.

When sexually violated,it is advisable for one to:

1. Talk to a friend or family member you trust.
2. Go to the nearest hospital/police station as soon as possible, preferably within 3 days of the assault (The earlier the better).
3. Do not wash, comb or clean any part of your body no matter how much you may want to before you visit a hospital and are examined by a health care provider.
4. If possible do not change clothes so that medical staff can collect evidence such as hair, nail and skin particles that got caught in the clothes.
5. Do not wash or destroy your clothing; wrap them in a newspaper or brown paper bag-NOT A PLASTIC BAG-as this may destroy the evidence.
6. Take the clothes to the hospital with you and let the health care provider examine them. If possible carry an extra set of clothes.
7. Do not tamper with anything at the scene of the assault since important evidence may be found at the scene.
8. You, your family or the hospital staff can call the police to report the assault.
