Sexual Violence:What happens next

Sexual violence indeed does occur.

In case you are sexually violated; always remember that you are not fault. You should not blame yourself for what has happened to you.

There are services that are easily available at the police station and health facility. You can only however access these services only when you present to these institutions.

When sexually violated,it is advisable for one to:

1. Talk to a friend or family member you trust.
2. Go to the nearest hospital/police station as soon as possible, preferably within 3 days of the assault (The earlier the better).
3. Do not wash, comb or clean any part of your body no matter how much you may want to before you visit a hospital and are examined by a health care provider.
4. If possible do not change clothes so that medical staff can collect evidence such as hair, nail and skin particles that got caught in the clothes.
5. Do not wash or destroy your clothing; wrap them in a newspaper or brown paper bag-NOT A PLASTIC BAG-as this may destroy the evidence.
6. Take the clothes to the hospital with you and let the health care provider examine them. If possible carry an extra set of clothes.
7. Do not tamper with anything at the scene of the assault since important evidence may be found at the scene.
8. You, your family or the hospital staff can call the police to report the assault.

In Closing:
Whether you are violated by a stranger or relative there is still help for you at the hospital. In my previous articles, I have mentioned on the rise in occurrences of sexual violence within the wider society and domestic violence(word press).

Judgement day

May 21st has come and gone.To some this was a prank that should be erased from our minds.However to others this is a call  for one to reflect on their lives.

The Bible says  that the Lord will return like a thief in the night,and no one,not even Jesus knows the day nor the hour.

There are 2 kinds of people,those who will be left looking for the daily bread like the 5 virgins in the bible,or those who will be found ready by the master

But you know what,this doesn't mean that we still have several years to indulge in whatever lifestyle.It is a wake up call for each of us to lead our lives as though it was our last.You may ask,how do we do this?

There are several strategies that one can use to ensure that should the lord come today,you will be among them that go with Him ,and not those that remain.

The one is clothing ourselves with the righteousness of God and separating ourselves from anything that is not holy.The Bible clearly says,without holiness no one can see God;and  that our righteousness is just but a filthy rag

So even as we make a mockery of the California preacher,should the Lord come today,where will you be found?

Today being the 21st of May 2011,there are those who thought that the prophesy made by one California pastor would come true.

But i guess if you are reading this post,you have realized that this is not the case as its now 1 hour  from the time given by the self proclaimed prophet 

Media reports show that there is a Kenyan man who sold his piece of land for a 500ml of coca cola,and was about to kill his children before  being arrested.This is one of those occasions that i can actually commend the police for a job well done.

There were also reports of inmates in one of the prison celebrating as they would no longer suffer the tribulations currently being experienced in prisons.

To everyone reading this post,it is worth noting that "no one knows the time or the hour of the Lord's coming"
